VILLAGE MART

2025

Village Mart follows a Taiwanese international student facing prejudice during her first shift at a grocery store. As Cinematographer and Colorist, I built the film's visual language around her emotional arc, naturalistic lighting, handheld camerawork, and a restrained palette grounded in realism.

Shot inside a working convenience store under harsh overhead fluorescents, the lighting challenge was finding a way to balance the existing practicals with motivated supplementary sources so the space felt cinematic without losing its real-world texture.
